Assumptions Can Destroy You

I have a problem with assumptions and this is one that was recently pointed out to me and that is the fact that I assume most people, especially Christians, know that the heavens contain signs that God uses regularly to denote times. When Jesus says that we should “look up” in Luke 21:28 he is saying look for signs above. These signs come from natural objects i.e. meteorites, asteroids, comets, planets, stars and constellations.
Genesis 1:14 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:”
Isaiah 13:10 “For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.”
Jeremiah 10:2 “Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them”

Matthew 16:3 “And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Luke 21:11 “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Luke 21:25 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring”

Acts 2:19 “And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke”

Luke 21:28 “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

Read Luke 21 with a discerning eye and read it as it is written, don’t add your interpretation or your church’s understanding and you will see what these things that are soon to come upon Christians, Israel and the world as a whole are spoken of in a specific timeline of events. Once you have read this you will hopefully see that persecution must come first. Christians today are being hunted down and beheaded in the Middle East and Africa, how soon will it be before this begin to happen elsewhere and don’t think it won’t happen.

The Persecution of whom? It is they that:

Luke 21:12  But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.”

Revelation 12:17 “…keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

Today Christians are reviled in America and made fun of constantly; almost everything on television is geared toward a re-interpretation of Biblical prophecy and scriptural history. Deception is used in our daily lives as seen by what our government says and does is not necessarily the truth. The programming on television is also a deceptive and rather malicious form of re-interpretation with shows like Ancient Aliens, Ghost Hunters, Sleepy Hallow, Paranormal Witness, etc...

These are attempts at misdirection with the goal of creating questions in the minds of men. This tactic began long ago with Adam and Eve being told by Satan,

Genesis 3:4 “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:”

Genesis 3:5 “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

This is just Satan trying to undermine and twist the words of God into a lie and that humans should seek their own answers with the continual help of Satan. The groundwork has been laid for the persecution of Christians which currently underway, it just hasn’t arrived on our shores yet.
